It was not taken with gleeful anticipation when the announcement came that first there would be a comedian that nobody had heard of but within 30 seconds he gave us a tutorial in how to capture a crowd and get them in the palm of your hand. It was fifteen years later when I began doing stand up and I came to appreciate his skill and stagecraft even more, especially opening shows for acts like Warren Zevon and (coming full circle) David Crosby.Bumfughttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01079255928781697290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5474063659930978111.post-89705490476399384912017-12-20T19:10:44.393-05:002017-12-20T19:10:44.393-05:00Rich Little did a more lifelike Nixon presentation...Rich Little did a more lifelike Nixon presentation, but Little kept it tame to preserve his marketability in mainstream circles. A classic style of impressionism with persistent and golden themes that all Americans can relate to. No, today's youth cannot relate to Richard Millhouse Nixon, Henry Kissenger, or the like. But the spirit of political impressionism should live on in more than spot comedy. David Frye was an example for all to follow. We will miss him forever. Make it a Great Day :).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14845537685858242602noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5474063659930978111.post-47597614615765899662013-08-06T02:19:17.165-04:002013-08-06T02:19:17.165-04:00As a young kid I had memorized "Richard Nixon...As a young kid I had memorized "Richard Nixon: A Fantasy", and as an adult today I wonder where talent like David Frye and Rich Little have gone.
